U. City To Hold All-Day Strategic Planning Session Saturday
The meeting, which starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m., is open to the public.

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO β University City will hold a special session of the city council at 9 a.m. Saturday morning (July 14) at the University City Library. The session will be facilitated by Patrick Ibarra of the Mejorando Group, a public relations firm that contracts to provide consulting services to city governments across the country. The session is open to the public and is expected to last until 3 p.m.

"During these times of unprecedented and disruptive change, leaders at all levels of government must improve their ability to manage a perplexing paradox β how to stay focused on today's business while building tomorrow's," according Mejorando's proposal to the city.
Mejorando is Spanish for βgetting better all the time," according to the group's website.

The proposal continues by explaining that a strategic planning session can be beneficial to the city, especially with the recent addition of two new councilmembers, helping to "energize and re-focus" the governing body.
The city is paying Mejorando $9,000 plus to to $1,500 in expenses for its services related to the one-day session.
