U City Hosting Free Electronics Event Today

The event is co-sponsored by Pagedale, University City and Wellston.

The cities of Pagedale, and Wellston will host a free electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 16.

Items can be dropped off at Wellston City Hall, located at 1414 Evergreen Ave.

Electronics that are accepted will include computers, printers, keyboards, laptops, hard drives, cell phones, pagers, radios, scanners, speakers, VCR, DVD players, fax machines, answering machines, televisions (limit two per car), stereos, furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, microwaves, power tools, kitchen appliances, lawn & garden equipment (all gasoline and oil MUST be removed), etc.

Items that will NOT be accepted include smoke detectors, glass lamps, light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.

Midwest Recycling Center will collect, process and recycle the electronic items. The project is funded by a grant from the St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District.
