U City Man Charged With Sept. 20 Burglary

A man faces criminal charges after police said he broke into a University City home two weeks ago.

Demetrias Young, 28, of the 1000 block of Wild Cherry Lane in University City, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing.

University City Police said Young climbed through a window into a house in the 7800 block of Ahern Avenue between 4 p.m. Sept. 20 and 9:58 a.m. Sept. 21. Police said he stole a laptop computer, headphones and computer bag valued at more than $500.

Young is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
