Woman Stabs Husband In Neck, Fires Gun During Argument, Police Say

University City Police said Daryel L. Mueller also fired a shot in the couple's apartment April 24.

A University City woman faces criminal charges for stabbing her husband in the neck and firing a handgun in their apartment in the 800 block of Lepere Avenue in U City.

Daryel A. Mueller, 31, was charged Thursday with first-degree domestic assault and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

University City Police said Mueller was arguing with her husband April 24 when she pulled out a Taurus 9 mm handgun, threatened him and fired a shot during the argument. When her husband started to leave, she stabbed him in the neck with a knife, police said.

Police said the man got nine stitches in his neck at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

On Thursday, he returned home to retrieve some items, but Mueller pulled out the handgun and refused to allow him in, according to a court document.

The man left and called police, who found the firearm, a bullet hole and a knife in the trash bag as Mueller’s husband described.

Mueller is being held in University City jail. Bail was set at $75,000.
