Update: Dropped Child Had Skull Fractures, Brain Swelling

The University City man charged with first-degree assault for dropping his infant son has previously been charged with injuring one of his children.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jeremy M. Giles was charged in Jefferson County with endangering the welfare of a child. 

The Post reports that Giles' one-month-old son was hospitalized on Oct. 9, 2011, after suffering two black eyes and extensive bruising.

The University City Police were called to St. Louis Children's Hospital on April 24 in regard to a suspected abuse case. The child had skull fractures and brain swelling, the Post reports.

Giles is being held on a cash-only $200,000 bond.
