Wentzville Hires Rolla Educator as Timberland Principal

The Board of Education announced Nathan Hoven will be principal of for the 2012-2013 school year.

Hoven is a Maryland Heights native and Pattonville High School graduate. He holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Missouri–Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology), a master's in Secondary Administration from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, and he is working on an educational doctorate degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia.

He taught math at Hazelwood Central and Pattonville High School before being named an assistant principal at Pattonville High. For the last four years, Hoven served as principal of Rolla High School.

In his first year at Rolla High School, Hoven implemented a program to deal with attendance and tardiness issues, setting an attendance goal of 95 percent, the Rolla Daily News reported in 2008.

Hoven also has coached high school football, wrestling and golf.

“I am extremely excited about moving to Timberland High School,” said Hoven. “I am looking forward to working with the outstanding students and staff of THS to continue building on their history of excellence.”

Hoven is married with three children. Both Hoven and his wife have family in the St. Louis area.
