City Approves Plan to Add Parking Spaces at Holt High School
The approved site plan will add 170 new spaces for parking and a new concession stand.
The Wentzville Board of Aldermen has approved a site plan for the re-purposing of the old bus lot at Holt High School into additional parking spaces and a new concession stand for the north sports fields.
Several aldermen said that they had been contacted by residents about problems with students parking on nearby residential streets.
Tiffany House-Wacker posted on the Wentzville Patch Facebook page that she was particularly concerned about parking issues on Linda Lane and Kent Drive. " . . . with all the high school students parking there it is a one way street. The school has parking that is where they need to park . . . it needs to be addressed."

The plan also leaves room for a connecting road to the future extension of Schroeder Creek Boulevard, which will some day connect Wentzville Parkway to West Pearce Boulevard. The board noted that the plan will allow for better traffic flow and access to the school from both the north and the south.
Kari Monsees, the Wentzville School District's chief financial officer, said that the project was environmentally friendly, with the old pavement being ground up and used for a base for the new pavement. The new concession stand will be of similar construction to the existing one at the football field.

The space became available after the district's bus fleet was moved to the district's new transportation facility on Hwy. A last year.
