Volunteers are needed to assist the St. Charles County Parks Department in removing invasive bush honeysuckle from 8 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Spring Bend Park, situated at the end of Upper Bottom Court and Upper Bottom Road at Highway 364 in St Charles.
The invasive plants are removed annually from the 109-acre park in reserve. Volunteers will receive on-site training, and will be cutting with hand saws and treating with herbicides. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a sturdy set of shoes or work boots, gloves, glasses, long-sleeved shirt and pants.
