Pieces of Gold Concert

The Chancel Choir at Dardenne Presbyterian Church — under the direction of Doug Gilliland — will join members of the church orchestra, children's choir and soloists to perform John Rutter's "Mass of the Children." 

In addition, the free program will open with a prelude; chamber musicians performing, include Zach Olivas, Latisha Gilliland, Mackenzie Jones, Mitchell Kirby and David Sanderson. 

 Mass of the Children is a major work of English composer John Rutter. It is a non-liturgical Missa Brevis, with the traditional Latin and Greek Mass text interwoven with several English poems.  The work consists of five movements:

1. Kyrie
2. Gloria
3. Sanctus and Benedictus
4. Agnus Dei
5. Finale (Dona nobis pacem)
