Mike Carter, boys basketball. The Indians got back on the winning track with a convincing 60-48 victory over Francis Howell North on Feb. 9. Leading the charge was Carter, who scored a game-high 15 points. Carter shot 75 percent from the floor and added four rebounds. Holt is now 12-12 on the season, 4-1 in conference play.

Francis Howell Central High School: Derrick Puni, boys basketball. Puni's double-double helped the Spartans to a nailbiter 56-55 win over Fort Zumwalt West on Feb. 10. Puni scored 18 points—only Central's Ryan Miller scored more points in the game—but it was his presence in the paint that really stood out. Puni grabbed 17 rebounds in the game—nine offensive and eight defensive. Howell Central is now 8-15 this season, 2-3 in conference.

Kacy Eschweiler, girls basketball. Eschweiler shot 6-of-13 from the floor en route to a 20 point evening. The performance fueld the Warriors to a 59-44 win over Orchard Farm Feb. 8. Eschweiler also added six blocks, four assists and nine rebounds to help St. Charles West to its ninth win of the season.

: Josh Ross, boys basketball. Ross helped lead the Lions to a 58-52 victory over St. Charles on Feb. 10 thanks, in part, to Ross' game-high 14 points and four steals. He also added seven rebounds and four assists in the game.
