2 Fatal Crashes, 58 DUIs Over Holiday Weekend

Ninety-eight other arrests were also made and over 1,000 tickets were issued the past two weekends.

State Police Director Colonel Robert Quinn  announces the enforcement efforts of State Troopers during the two recent C.A.R.E Life Saver Weekends.  The State Police want to thank all those who travelled  safely  and courteously and regrets to announce that there were 2 fatal motor vehicle crashes during this period.

Beginning  Friday December 14, 2012 through Sunday December 16, 2012 and Friday December 21, 2012 through Monday December 24, 2012 State Troopers maintained a highly visable presence throughout the State  to assure safe holiday travel making a total of 3,960 vehicle stops, which included 834 citations for speeding and 2, 476 warnings. There were also 98 citations issued for hazardous violations  and 34 for Driving after Suspension.   Additionaly, 98  other criminal arrests were made during this time period.

Highly trained State Troopers were also assigned throughout the state to detect and apprehend impaired drivers.  As a result of their enforcement efforts there were a total of 58 DUI arrests made 14 of which were Aggravated or Subsequent offenses.  

Several erratic and impaired operators were identified and aprehended as a result  of phone  calls by responsible citizens reporting their unsafe and erratic operation.   The men and women of the State Police appreciate the  public's assistance in removing  impaired  drivers from our roadways.  

The New Hampshire State Police are committed to ensuring safe travel throughout the state and will continue our efforts to reduce collisions in the upcoming New Year’s holiday weekend.
