5 Great Things To Do In NH This Weekend

Crack open some of those good times.

1. Huzzah for diversity! See the world in a single day as musicians, dancers, artisans, and food vendors from Manchester’s many diverse cultures converge on Veterans Park on Saturday, Aug. 25 for the city’s 6th annual PeopleFest Celebration. The event runs from 10 AM to 6 PM and is free. PeopleFest will again be sharing the Park with the Manchester Artists’ Association’s Art in the Park Celebration featuring exhibits by local and regional artists. The rain date for the event is August 26.

2. So sweet! Frederick's Pastries will be hosting a sampling event on August 25th from 12-2 pm at their Bedford, NH shop located at 25 South River Rd., Bedford, NH. Along with Frederick's Pastries free samples, Frank FM 106.3 will be providing a live broadcast to add music and more to the event.

3. Hidden gems! The 49th Annual Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry Festival will be rocking the Everett Arena in Concord on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An amazing variety of treasures from the earth are displayed, and most are available for purchase. There are spectacular-looking mineral specimens and beautifully preserved small fossils, as well as unusual pieces of interest to specialists. There are geodes that when cracked open reveal remarkable crystals inside a plain-looking rock. Gem-quality minerals can be found for sale that are virtually straight from the earth, some polished, some turned into interesting and lovely pieces of jewelry, some carved into charming animals, and some turned into beautifully faceted gems. Tickets at the door are $5 for adults/children over 12; 12 and under free if with parent.
