5 Great Things to Do In NH This Weekend
Girls just want to have fun. So do the boys. In short, we all want to have fun.

1. Concert for a great cause. The Second Annual Kim's Concert in 2012 is taking place on Sunday, Aug. 5 from noon until 8 p.m. There are some outstanding entertainment lined up that will be fun for everyone, including: The Slakas, The Pop Farmers, The Ballou Brothers Band, Napoleon in Rags and Fatback. There will also be face painters, a bounce house, kids music, jugglers, Silent Auction/Raffles, a-la-carte BBQ food items and a cash bar. Bring your chairs or blankets, on-site parking. Rain or Shine Event. No pets or outside coolers allowed on grounds.
2. Just dance! Sunday night Ballroom Dance Parties are held every week at the Queen City Ballroom Dance Studio. These parties are beginner-friendly with mixer dances and light refreshments. Dance from 6-9 p.m. Hardwood floor, recorded music, friendly crowd, smoke and alcohol free. Singles and couples welcome. Please bring a change of shoes to protect the dance floor. Free admission for first timers.
3. Awesome old stuff! The Bedford Lions Club 2nd Annual Antiques Show is on for Saturday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. All net proceeds go to charity in order to provide Sight & Hearing assistance to New Hampshire residents. Specialists will be on hand to appraise your antique treasures. Good food, air conditioned environment, multiple raffle prizes, free parking and an exceptional offering of Exhibitors will round this out to be a superb event. 4. Outdoor tunes! The Friends of Stark Park in Manchester are pleased to welcome the Strafford Wind Symphony to Stark Park on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. The Strafford Wind Symphony has been entertaining New England for 23 years and are not to be missed! The Puritan Backroom will be there selling their delicious ice cream, so bring a blanket and your loved ones as we end the week together in song.
5. On fire! The Little Nature Museum in Contoocook is offering a new workshop, “Fire, 7,000 B.C.” on August 4 from 1 PM – 3 PM, rain or shine. You will spend two hours with primitive skills instructor, Rudy Bourget, learning how to start a fire using nothing more than sticks and a piece of string. Start by making your string from plant fibers. You will also learn the chemistry of fire, the secrets of tinder, what woods make the best kindling and fuel, fire safety, and leave no trace considerations regarding campfires. You will build and light a fire using sticks and your piece of string. Preregistration is required; enrollment is limited to 10, ages 15 through adult (ages 13 or 14, with an adult).
