5 Romantic Things To Do This Weekend

1. A date with nature! Join in on the Beaver Brook Association Nature Center's Valentine Couple's Hike & Bonfire on Friday, Feb. 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Enjoy a refreshing evening out in the calming fields and forests with someone special. We will take a night hike and snowshoe if the conditions are right through the trails at Beaver Brook. We'll investigate the magic of nature at night. Dress in layers and wear sturdy warm hiking boots. Brings hiking poles, or your own crampons or snowshoes if you prefer yours. We also will have crampons and snowshoes for you to use. Hike for 1.5 hours and return to the Beaver Brook Yurt to enjoy warm refreshments, chocolates and homemade sweets.
2. For the ladies! Take your lady to the 15th Annual WZID's Women's Expo on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whether you're a first time attendee or a five-year veteran, there is always something fun and new at the WZID Women's Expo. Here's a list of some things you'll want to keep in mind in order to have a fantastic time at this year's Expo. When you arrive, you can either get in the ticket line, or save time and buy online and get in the entrance line. This is where you'll be able to get your free goodie bag, map, copy of the "20 Outstanding Women You Should Know" magazine and all of the details about the Expo. The doors will open at 10 a.m. There will be about 120 exhibitors to visit this year. Make sure to grab a map from the check in areato see the locations of all exhibitors. Some exhibitors will have items for sale. We suggest you bring cash or checks if you want to take advantage of the great offers these exhibitors will have available.
3. Take her dancing! Queen City Ballroom Dance Studio in Manchester offers Argentine Tango classes with Instructor Randy Avis on Sunday afternoons. Beginning Tango, 3:00 - 4:00 pm, Practica, 4:00 - 4:30 pm, offers time to practice and/or warm up for the upcoming class; Argentine Tango for mixed levels, 4:30 - 5:30 pm, is suitable for mixed levels and Practica, 5:30 - 6:00 pm, is for dancing and/or practice. (Intro to Beginning Tango, 1:30 - 2:30 pm, available by special request, pre-registration required). $10.00 per person per afternoon if paying by the semester; $12.00 per person per afternoon drop-in rate; Practica only, $5.00 per person. Singles and couples welcome.

4. See a show! Ladies night returns at The Red River Theater in Concord with Alicia Silverstone's star making turn in "Clueless" a fun and quirky modern day retelling of Jane Austin's beloved novel Emma. Our quarterly Ladies Nights are a great way to spend a night out! So grab your girl friends, your favorite wrap and head down to RRT. Cher, a high school student in Beverly Hills, must survive the ups and downs of adolescent life. Her external demeanor at first seems superficial, but rather it hides her wit, charm, and intelligence which help her to deal with relationships, friends, family, school, and the all-important teenage social life.
5. Laugh together! The Regular Guys of Comedy will be playing at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. They have kids and mortgages. They have maxed-out equity lines. They drive Hondas. They bet on football. They mow their own lawns. They drink moderately on weekends. They’ve had “awkward” conversations with their doctors. Their cholesterol levels are a “concern”. They can’t remember their anniversaries but they know Shark Week starts the first Sunday in August. They are The Regular Guys of Comedy. Like you, only funnier! Tickets are $28.
