5 Things: Deliberative Sessions for Amherst Schools this Weekend

1. Weather Report: Today will be mostly cloudy with a high of 39 degrees. Flurries or freezing drizzle may come our way early, but is more likely later in the day. Rain and freezing rain is expected tonight with a low of 31 degrees.

2. Your schools, your vote. The Amherst School District's deliberative session will take place on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m at Souhegan High School. The Souhegan Cooperative School District will hold their deliberative session at 11 a.m. that day. Review the warrants for both districts on Amherst Patch.

5. Congrats! Robert Vincent Maguire of Amherst was recently honored for outstanding academic achievement at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, during the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year. Maguire earned one of the college's top academic honors, a Gold Star. Gold Stars are presented to students who achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher during a semester's course work. Gold Stars are worn on the collar of the cadet full dress and dress uniforms and the summer leave uniform. Maguire is a cadet seeking a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at The Citadel.
