5. Blast off! Last month, Mrs. Alger’s and Mrs. Tighe’s fourth grade class had the opportunity to Skype with a NASA scientist! Marje Sovinski works at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, currently supporting four major projects there, including the Solar Orbiter. Students asked Ms. Sovinski all types of questions, ranging from how a rocket launches to whether or not a spaceship could land on the rings of Saturn. The students were full of wonderful questions, and afterwards Ms. Sovinski stated: “The kids had some of the best questions I’ve heard- they are a very bright group of kids!”
