
1. Weather Report: Today will be SNOOOOWY! There will be periods of snow with some sleet mixed in through the day, and a high of 36 degrees. The snow should leave before the evening and leave some clouds before clearing later in the night. Tomorrow is looking cooler with more clouds.
2. Equipment needed. Did your son or daughter receive new lacrosse equipment for the holidays? Do you have old equipment lying around that you want to get rid of? Then donate it all to the Amherst Lacrosse Swap! They need your used boys' and girls' lax equipment. Donate your gently used sticks and goggles for girls, and sticks, helmets and pads for boys who are new to the sport and don't want to go to the expense of buying new equipment. The swap is held in on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at Amherst Middle School Donation boxes will be at SHS and AMS. This community service project is run by Connor Holbrook of Souhegan High School. 3. Get Comfortable. Did you know: The record for the longest filibuster is held by the late South Carolina senator Strom Thurmond, who talked against the 1957 Civil Rights Act for 24 hours and 18 minutes.
4. Lance confesses to Oprah. Lance Armstrong has confessed to doping during an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Monday. The champion cyclist admitted to using performance enhancing drugs, which has caused him to lose his titles, endorsements and his own Livestrong charity. Their interview will run in two parts over two nights.

5. Congrats! Saint Michael's College student Amy Wilson, daughter of Karen and Richard Wilson of Milford, is studying abroad in Istanbul, Turkey at Bogazici University for the spring 2013 semester. Wilson, a Junior English & Religious Studies major graduated from Milford High School & Applied Technology Center before coming to Saint Michael's, a USNews top-100 national liberal arts college. Saint Michael's, a Phi Beta Kappa institution, is located in Burlington, Vermont, one of the 10 best college towns in the country.
