5 Things: Local Libraries Updating Systems Today

Digital Patch.

1. Weather report: Today will be partly cloudy with a high of 56 degrees. Tonight should be partly cloudy with a high of 47 degrees. Thursday is looking mighty similar to today as far as weather goes.

2. Good news for jobs. USA Today reports that unemployment fell in 41 states in September, including New Hampshire.

4. Dressing up? Make money. We are looking for more costume entries in the Patch’s Best Halloween Costume in America Contest. Upload your photo on the link and you could win $5,000! That is a lot of dough for a photo.

5. Library downtime. The Amherst and Milford libraries (and all other GMILCS consortium libraries) will be upgrading our computer system today. All e-resources will be unavailable. This includes: the online catalog (including "My Account"), downloadable eBooks & audiobook and online databases. Library staff will be available to help you locate library materials, but will not be able to reserve museum passes or accept any fines or payments.
