5. Girls Scouts turn 101! Not voting related, but the Girls Scouts of America celebrates their 101st birthday today. Girl Scout Week begins with Girl Scout Sunday on March 10, and ends with Girl Scout Sabbath on March 16, recognizing that the motivating force in Girl Scouting is a spiritual one. Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate in religious services of their choice in uniform on these days to show that Girl Scouting is a vital part of the community.
