5 Things: The Red Cross REALLY Wants Your Blood

1. Blood needed. This week, The American Red Cross Donor Center at 425 Reservoir Ave., Manchester, will be open an hour earlier, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. This is to hopefully make up for all of the blood lost this month due to the several snow storms. The Donor Center will also be open on Friday, March 1, from noon to 5 p.m. To make your appointment call 1-800-REDCROSS or go to redcrossblood.org. Walk ins are always welcome. There will be ski tickets and coupons for Chili’s Bar and Grill through Thursday. On Friday, donors will receive coupons from Subway and subs will be served all day.
2. What are you strengths? The Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce is looking for student candidates for the annual high school interview competition. The first round will take place in the first week of March. Find out more here.

3. Can you hack it? Did you know: Hackers date as far back as the 1870s, when a group of teenagers hacked into the new phone system of the United States.
4. Congrats! Tufts University recently announced the Dean's List for the Fall 2012 semester. Among these students is Meghan Gillis of Amherst, class of 2015. Dean's List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.
