5 Things: TSA to Allow Knives on Planes

1. Whittle mid-flight. The Transportation Security Administration will soon allow travelers to bring small knives and certain sports equipment onto airplanes. The change conforms to international rules, and will take ffect on April 25. These items have been banned since 2001. 

2. Smile! Today may seem like another day, but you can make it special by taking some time to smile. Think a happy thought, make a friend laugh or do anything that makes today the best day of the week.

3. Some like it hot. Did you know: The Tuareg are the largest group of nomads living in the Sahara. More than 300,000 Tuareg live in the desert, chiefly in Algeria, Mali and Niger.

4. Congrats! Jeffrey Chappell of Amherst has been named to the Plymouth State University President's List for the fall 2012 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the fall 2012 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. These credit hours must be in courses that earn grade points and the student must have completed all such courses attempted.
