 3. Washed out. Ever had your favorite shirt lose its color from too much time in the sun? It happens when ultraviolet light breaks down the chemical bonds in the dyes and causes a bleaching effect.

4. Help Wanted: The Souhegan Scholarship Foundation is looking for new board members to join immediately. Time commitment is one meeting per month, September through June, plus application review and interviews in April and May. 5. Congrats! Samantha Jones of Amherst was named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the fall 2012 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.
