2. Armed teachers? The Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee held a hearing on Thursday related to teachers carring a concealed gun on school property. The effort is aimed at protecting school children in the wake of Sandy Hook.

3. You spin me right round. Did you know: The most tornadoes recorded in one month in the United States occurred in May 2003. Experts confirmed 543 twisters, far more than the 399 recorded in June 1992.

4. Congrats! Connor Jackson, a resident of Milford, NH, is a member of the Carleton men's indoor track and field team for the 2013 season. Jackson is a graduate of Milford High School and is currently a sophomore at Carleton. Carleton is coached by Dave Ricks, who is in his 10th season as the Knights' head coach. Carleton is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and NCAA Division III. Since 2000, the Knights have had 36 All-MIAC and two All-America indoor performances.
