1. Your weather report: Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 85 degrees. Tonight should be mostly clear with an overnight low of 62 degrees. Tomorrow will probably be warmer and a tad more cloudy.
2. Safer skulls. WMUR reports that Gov. John Lynch is signing a new law to lower the amount of head injuries in youth sports. These new rules takes effect Aug. 17, and would require information about concussions be distributed to all youth athletes each year, and parents would have to sign forms indicating they had read the information before the start of practice.

3. Patch Fact: Velociraptor was a quick, fierce meat-eating dinosaur. It lived about 80 million years ago in what is now Mongolia and northern China.

5. Congrats! Aidan Tatar of Amherst was named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Quinnipiac University.To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits, including 12 that have been graded A through C in a semester. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester to be eligible.
