1. Your weather report: The heat continues! Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 97 degrees. Tonight will be mostly clear with an overnight low of 70 degrees. Tomorrow will be a tiny bit cooler with thunderstorms predicted for the day.

2. Good news for jobseekers. The Nashua Telegraph reports that jobless rates in the region have gone down over the last few months and are lower than last year. 

3. Patch Fact: The Sun’s core is composed of hot & dense gasses. It has a temperature of 15 million Kelvin (27 million degrees F)

4. Obama returning to NH. President Barack Obama will return to New Hampshire on Monday, June 25. The campaign event will be held somewhere in Strafford County, with more details will be released soon.

5. Congrats! Two Amherst students were named to the Spring 2012 Dean's List at Saint Michael's College. McKenzie St. Germain, daughter of Susan Nykamp and and Michael St. Germain is a Sophomore Psychology major and Cassandra Varanka, daughter of Michael and Sara Varanka of Amherst is a May Graduate Political Science major, who graduated from Souhegan High School before coming to Saint Michael's. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.
