Amherst residents will see a slight increase in their tax rate this year
The New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration issued the 2012 tax rate for the town of Amherst on Wednesday. Here is the rundown:

Total Tax: $26.28
The Amherst valuation for 2012 is $1,568,504,100 with the tax commitment $40,819,953.
The 2012 rate of $26.28/thousand is a step up from the $25.37/thousand total last year. This means a $250,000 home will pay $6,570 this year compared to $6,342.50 last year.
The rate has been climbing steadily since 2006, after experiencing a significant drop from the previous years' rates at $18.83/thousand.
