The Amherst valuation for 2012 is $1,568,504,100 with the tax commitment $40,819,953.
The 2012 rate of $26.28/thousand is a step up from the $25.37/thousand total last year. This means a $250,000 home will pay $6,570 this year compared to $6,342.50 last year.
The rate has been climbing steadily since 2006, after experiencing a significant drop from the previous years' rates at $18.83/thousand.
