Amherst Candidates for House, Senate, County Races

Hansen, Rowe and Chandley file for re-election, and Stepanek wants to return to Concord to represent Amherst.

The state candidate filing period closed June 13 and the top of the ticket features races in which Republicans are trying to unseat Democratic incumbents, from the governor's office to U.S. Senate. 

The state filing period closed at 5 p.m. Friday, but the Republican and Democratic parties have until June 18 to fill vacancies on party tickets.

Below is a look at the candidates filing for local seats, according to the Secretary of State's website updated June 13 (some last-minute filings may not be represented in the state's report just yet, and will be updated Monday; incumbents' names are in bold):

Executive Council

In the race for Executive Council District 5, there are Republican and Democratic primaries owing to Councilor Deb Pignatelli not running for re-election. Stepping up to try to succeed her are Democrats Diane Sheehan of Nashua and Jennifer Daler Temple of Temple. Republicans seeking to represent District 5 are Steve Hattamer of Hollis and Dave Wheeler of Milford.
