Amherst Drunk Driver Arrested: Police
Merrimack police said Adam Kowalczyk had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police said officers recently arrested a drunk driver whose blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit. Adam Kowalczyk (pictured), 32, of Amherst, was charged with drunk driving and aggravated drunk driving.
Merrimack police Sergeant Richard McKenzie said an officer was patrolling Back River Road June 30 at about 12:20 a.m. when the officer saw Kowalczyk commit a driving violation and pulled him over. Kowalczyk agreed to an alcohol breath test and it turned up 0.16 — twice the legal limit, McKenzie said in a statement.
Kowalczyk was released on $2,000 bond pending an arraignment in Merrimack District Court.
