This weekend is the fourth annual "Chunkin in the Gardens" Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Join Trombly Gardens for food, music, pumpkin chunkin' demonstrations, the corn maze and more. Trombly Gardens is at 150 North River Road, Milford. Can't make the festival? You can still check out the corn maze, open daily from 9 a.m.-dusk and hayrides on the weekend from noon-5 p.m. Find more information about these and more activities here.

ICYMI. While word has gotten around that Amber Alerts have been put on hold during the government shut down, fear not, as that information isn't true. Amber Alerts are run locally, so while the National Amber Alert webpage was down for a period of time, had an Amber Alert needed issuing, it would have been done through the local authorities without delay. Most websites run by the Department of Justice continue to be offline, but AmberAlert.gov is live for the foreseeable future. Read more about Amber Alerts during the government shutdown here.
