Amherst Students Receive Honors

Congratulations to all of these accomplished learners.

"Props" to the following Amherst students for their academic achievements:
    • Elizabeth A. Callahan, daughter of Lorraine and Stephen Callahan of Amherst was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2013 semester at Saint Michael's College. Callahan is a Sophomore Secondary Education major at the liberal arts and sciences, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont, one of the top 10 college towns in America.
    • Ryan Clark of Amherst, NH, graduated May 12, 2013, from Ohio Wesleyan University. Clark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
    • Katherine Partin of Amherst, NH, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University during the 82nd Undergraduate Commencement held May 19.
    • Amherst resident Jonathan McCormick was named to the dean's list for the 2013 spring semester at Messiah College. McCormick is a senior majoring in psychology. Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
    • Kelsie Helberg of Amherst, N.H. has graduated from Whitman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Philosophy and a minor in psychology. Helberg is a 2008 graduate of Souhegan High School.
    • Amherst resident Kevin Leonard, a member of the Stonehill College Class of 2013, was inducted into the Alpha Mu Alpha Honor Society.

    The following local residents made the Dean's List for Spring 2013 quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology:

    • Madeleine Daigneau of Amherst, N.H., (03031) is a third-year student in the computer engineering program in RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
    • Meredith Foley of Amherst, N.H., (03031) is a fourth-year student in the professional photographic illustration program in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.
    • Patrick Gillis of Amherst, N.H., (03031) is a fifth-year student in the computer science program in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
    • Ryan Harriman of Amherst, N.H., (03031) is a fourth-year student in the biomedical photographic communications program in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.
    The following local residents have been named to the Dean's List at Clemson University for the spring 2013 semester:
    • Nelson Daniel Corchado of Amherst, who is majoring in Pre-Business
    • Jacob Charles Dworkin of Amherst, who is majoring in General Engineering
    Local residents were among the 512 undergraduates and 162 graduate students who recently received a diploma at two separate commencement ceremonies at Merrimack College recently:
    • Kathryn Eagan of Amherst earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering .
    • Kristin Elliott of Amherst earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

    Rev. Augustine Kelly, O.S.B., dean of the college, announces the following students that were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH.

    • Andrea T. Griffin, of Amherst, a Applied Physics major and a member of the class of 2014.
    • Tyler H. Wing, of Amherst, a Business major and a member of the class of 2014.
    • Ashley E. Ireland, of Amherst, a Computer Science major and a member of the class of 2016.
    The following local residents received degrees from Clark University on Sunday, May 19.
    • Quillah A. Burstein, of Amherst, graduated with a Master of Business Administration. Burstein is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
    • Ross H Glover, of Amherst, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in international development and social change.
    • Aaron M. Landis, of Amherst, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Landis is a member of Psi Chi, the national psychology honor society.

    Local students received scholastic achievement awards at Clearwater Christian College for the 2013 spring semester.

    • Felicia Weber of Amherst received the Dean's List award from CCC. In order to be recognized for this award, honorees are required to earn a GPA between 3.50 and 3.90 on a 4.00 scale. A graduate Humanities major at CCC, Weber is a homeschool graduate and the daughter of James and Beth Weber of Amherst.
    • Valarie Weber of Amherst received the Dean's List award from CCC. In order to be recognized for this award, honorees are required to earn a GPA between 3.50 and 3.90 on a 4.00 scale. A sophomore Interdiscipinary Studies major at CCC, Weber is a homeschool graduate and the daughter of James and Beth Weber of Amherst.
    • Michelle Weber of Amherst received the President's List award from CCC. In order to be recognized for this award, honorees must have been enrolled full-time and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.90 on a 4.00 scale. A senior Music major at CCC, Weber is a homeschool graduate and the daughter of James and Beth Weber of Amherst.
