Girls Varsity Hockey Team selected as the Saber Student-Athlete(S) for the week of January 30th

The Girls Varsity Hockey Team has been selected by the Souhegan Varsity Coaches as the Saber Student-Athlete(S) of the week for the week of January 30th.
Head Varsity Coach Kelli Wareki wrote in her nomination, “This past Saturday, our girls’ hockey team was tied at zero at the end of the first period against Dover-St Thomas in Dover. Dover-St. Thomas, which is one of the top teams in the state and draws on a pool of almost 3,000 students, beat the Sabers 11-0 earlier in the season. the start of the second period, the gold line scored a thrilling goal to lead the game at 1-0.
The team continued to show their collective teamwork, great effort, and tenacity until the final buzzer. The Lady Sabers lost 3-1. The perseverance this team has shown in its young history is incredible.

Each member of the team gives everything they have at every practice and game. It is so rewarding as coaches to finally see this hard work beginning to pay off for them. The opposing head coach added "your team and program have come a long way and I have never seen them play like that".
