Souhegan's Crook Win's NHIAA Division 2 Wrestling Championship

Souhegan Junior Cameron Crook  won the NHIAA Division 2  State Wrestling Championship at the 220lb weight class this past Saturday.

Crook opened the tournament with a first round bye before picking up a quarterfinal pin over Bedford’s Matt Houston.  In the Semifinal round Crook found himself down by two points with less than ten seconds remaining in his match with Merrimack’s Zach Pickard.

In the match’s waning moments Crook secured a takedown and two point nearfall to propel him into the Division 2 championship round, where he fended off Con-Val’s Alex Hautanen for Souhegan’s first individual NHIAA Westling championship since 2009.
