What's Open and Closed in Amherst on Columbus Day?
Are you a business owner or manager? Let us know if you are open, closed or have special hours in observance of Columbus Day.
Monday is Columbus Day, which means the kiddos (and teachers, staffs and administrations) of the Souhegan School District have the day off in observance.
Amherst Town Offices will also observe the holiday and be closed Monday, but will re-open for regular hours on Tuesday.
If you want to hit the library, you can do so on Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The Amherst Town Library will be closed on Monday and will re-open for regular hours on Tuesday.

Post offices and most banks are also closed on Monday.
Most retail stores, restaurants, gyms, and supermarkets are open, but may be observing special weekend or holiday hours. Call ahead if you want to be sure before you head out.
