BAE Engineers Combine Theory with Practice at Souhegan High School

The engineers gave valuable advice to students looking to get into the field.

Three members of the optical engineering department at BAE Systems met with Chemistry and Physics classes at Souhegan.

As part of this educational outreach, the engineers shared a variety of demonstrations and lessons.

A key part of the presentation was a discussion about practical applications ofthe demonstrated topics, descriptions of what an engineer does, as well as suggestion sfor what students should do if they are interested in pursuing a career in engineering.

“I am considering engineering but didn’t know that optics was an option – this was a greatopportunity to ask questions about the field and their personal experiences,” said Jen Cui, Souhegan senior.
