BEAT THE HEAT: Cool Off, Have Fun at Baboosic Lake

The weather has been sizzling, but there is always a fun way to cool off around here.

One strategy is to head over to Baboosic Lake for a summer filled with lake side activities. Bring the whole family for swimming lessons, beach volleyball, fun on the play-scape, build sandcastles, picnic under the canopy of the pines or just enjoy a warm summer day on the beach.

The beach is guarded daily. 

Amherst Town Beach Season Pass

Amherst Resident Family - $90/Nonresident family - $130

With the purchase swim lessons, the seasons pass is discounted $20.

Daily Gate Fee: $4 ages 12+, $2 ages 3-11, (2 and under & age 65+ free)

Swim Team

Swim team is open to all ability levels for ages 4-19. Participants must be able to float on their front.

When: Practices are held daily Mon-Fri, 6/24-8/2 9:00-10:00am

Fee: $45 Amherst Resident/$70 Nonresident

Swim Lessons

Take advantage of the American Red Cross swimming lessons administered by their experienced returning staff. All instructors are ARC Water Safety certified. Swimming lessons are scheduled for a 30 minute time period.  

Who:  Infants to Age 18

Swim Lesson Session Schedule:

Session 1 Mon-Thur. 6/24-7/5 (no class 7/4)

Session 2 Mon-Thur. 7/8-7/18

Session 3 Mon-Thur. 7/22-8/1

Fridays used for makeup classes only.

Fee: $45 session/ Amherst Resident; $55 session/Nonresident.

Private Swims Lessons

One-on-one in water instruction will be provided and their instructor will work with you to meet your swimming goals. All ages and abilities are welcome. Private lessons will be offered each of the three sessions at either 9-9:30am or 9:30-10am.

Fee: $65 Amherst Resident/$75 Nonresident

Baboosic Lake Summer Camp

Join in for an opportunity to join old friends, make new ones, develop new skills, be a kid, and most of all have fun. Children will participate in many engaging activities; arts and crafts, games, stories, beach volleyball, swimming, and campers can take advantage of swimming lessons at an additional fee.

Who: Grades 1-6

When: Mon - Fri 6/24-8/16

Time: 9:00am-3:00pm daily. Before/After Care available 7:30am - 5:30pm.

Fee: $110 Per Week, $30 Per Day
