Brinestone Back After Burglar Takes Thousands

Investigation continues into a terrible burglary that took over $20,000 from an Amherst Apple specialist store.

Right now they are open for business.

Brinestone in the Lowe’s Plaza opened its doors once again on July 1, about a week after a burglar tore through the store and took thousands of dollars in demo units and products. The electronics store is stocked once more and ready for customers

Amherst Police are continuing to investigate the June 26 burglary.

In the meantime, owner Matt Bernard said that he is focused on moving forward. He is truly moved by the outpouring of support from the community as he continues his small electronics business.

“Its been nice to see people come in to show support,” said Bernard, “Not only that, but business customers have shown just as much.”

He added that the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses have also stood behind him after the burglary.

Brinestone now has enhanced security to prevent a crime like this from ever happening again, according to Bernard. A sign in the window makes that point clear.

The business owner was in good spirits when Amherst Patch spoke to him on Thursday. A U.S. military veteran, he is not going to let something like this keep him down. A community is behind him, and at least the burglary raised awareness of his business to potential customers.

A fundraising page has so far raised $2,085 to support Brinestone. If you would like to donate, please visit their GoFundMe page at www.gofundme.com/3ed1j8.
