Devon Hickey, Reed Larson Named Athletes of the Week

Varsity boys soccer's opening schedule of three matches included 2012 State Champs, their opponent in the final, and a semi-finalist. The young man at center back, Reed Larson, has provided critical support in all phases during training and matches, with extraordinary match performances in each.  In fact, Reed's efforts have prevented several 1v1 with our goalkeeper, as well as constant communication to allow the back four to hold off powerful attacks. Reed has already been twice awarded the Man of the Match award, being selected by his peers.  He has been an ironman as well, playing every minute of every match including two overtime games. Reed's strong leadership from the back continues to grow and give the team strength, and he remains a critical component for the team, as well as a formidable opponent to the team's foes. 

Devon Hickey, a senior standout of the field hockey team, has been a big contributor to the team’s success. In practices, she is always pushing herself to be the very best she can be. In games, she is a force to be reckoned with. Devon was the team's leading scorer last year and is seemingly aiming to keep that title this season by netting both of the team’s goals against Plymouth in its season-opening win. Though she has every right to brag, Devon is a humble player who leads by example on and off the field. The field hockey team would not be the same without her.
