Nashua Community College is opening its doors to the public for an exciting Open House event that promises to showcase the campus and everything it has to offer. The event is set to take place on Wednesday, April 12 from 5-7 PM.
Prospective students and their families will get the opportunity to explore the campus and speak with faculty members and current students.
“Open House is a great way to meet your program coordinator and explore multiple areas of interest if you were undecided on which major to choose,” said Grace Moran, a Business Administration: Management student at NCC. Visitors can ask questions about the programs they are interested in, and learn about the hands-on experience they will gain through Nashua Community College's rigorous curriculum.
“NCC prepares students for the workforce or to transfer to a 4-year degree program,” said Mackenzie Murphy, Admissions Coordinator. “We partner with a variety of businesses and organizations that offer students co-op and internship experiences in their programs, and many students end up getting a job in the field that they are passionate about after studying at NCC.”
Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about the college's various programs, including its associate degrees, certificates, Dual Enrollment, and continuing education courses.
“The college provides students with educational flexibility. We have courses in-person, remote, Flex and in hybrid formats so students can take classes around their work schedule or other commitments,” said Murphy.
“Open House is also a great opportunity for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors to learn about ways they can begin earning college credit before graduating high school,” said Michelle Grimm, Dual Enrollment Coordinator at NCC. “Through Dual Enrollment programs like Running Start, Early College, and eStart; students can begin building a college transcript now that can transfer to colleges and universities across the country, saving thousands in tuition costs. Through the Governor’s Scholarship, many courses are free, and need-based scholarships are also available for some programs.”
The event will feature campus tours, program-specific information sessions, and opportunities to meet with faculty members and current students. Visitors will also be able to learn about the admissions process, student life, scholarships and financial aid.
“NCC is a great way to stay close to home and save money at the same time,” said Moran.
Open House promises to be both informative and engaging, providing visitors with a glimpse into what it's like to be a student at Nashua Community College.
"We encourage anyone who is considering continuing their education to attend our Open House event," said Murphy. "We are proud of our diverse student body and the success of our graduates.”
