Flash Flood Watch in Effect for Much of Southern NH

There is a flash flood watch in effect through midnight Wednesday.

A flash flood watch is now in effect for Amherst and surrounding communities in Hillsborough County.

The advisory extends through through Wednesday evening and ends 12 a.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms moving through New Hampshire have the potential to produce heavy downpours of rain accumulating 1-2 inches in a short period of time, which may lead to poor drainage in addition to the possibility of local rivers and steams spilling over their banks.
