
On Sunday, Oct. 20, kids between ages 6 and 18 are invited to grab a friend and challenge themselves with a fun obstacle course on the trails surrounding a 50+ acre pond at the Freestyle Farm Equestrian Center on Mack Hill Road.
The Amherst Track and Field Wet and Wild Fun Run gets kids hiking/running on one of two courses complete with obstacles, water crossings, steep terrain and a wide variety of surfaces, including grass, dirt and trails through the woods.
The objective is not to win, but to complete the course that has gentle hisllsa and a series of steep hills - both up and down.
Sponsored by Amherst Recreation and Amherst Track and Field and hosted by Freestyle Farm, LLC. Kids can sign up for the 2.75-mile short course (for ages 6 and older) and the 4-mile long course (for ages 10 and older. Register at 10 a.m. Short course challenge starts at 11 a.m. and long course at 11:45 a.m.
