Route 101 Head-On Collision Sends Three To Hospital
Slippery road conditions and speed were the cause of a crash early this morning.

Three individuals were sent to the hospital for serious injuries after a serious accident on Route 101 this morning.
A full-size pickup truck going eastbound crossed the center line and struck a sport utility vehicle going westbound around 12:20 a.m. this morning. The head-collision, which happened near the Route 122 overpass, sent both drivers and a passenger in the pickup truck to the hospital for serious injuries.
Route 101 was shut down for roughly four hours as emergency personnel investigated and clear the scene.

Amherst Police said the crash was due to slippery road conditions and speed. Alcohol does not seem to be a factor. An investigation is currently underway.
