HUZZAH! Amherst Patch Turns One Today

Over 2,500 articles have been posted the past 12 months, and there are many more to come!

Amherst Patch went live exactly one year ago to give the local community a better way to share what is going on in their neighborhood.

Now, it has grown much faster than I could have hoped and becoming the go-to destination for local news, opinion and events. In just one year we have been able to create a community portal thanks to a growing audience of readers and the amazing people who create remarkable stories each day.

I want to personally thank each and every person who has contributed to Amherst Patch as it continues to evolve so it can best serve YOU. This space is continually developed in response to reader feedback on what things THEY want to see on the website each day.

Being the local editor at Amherst Patch has given me an oppurtunity to meet FANTASTIC people in the Amherst community, share amazing stories and bring important stories to the forefront. It has certainly been a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to even more adventures here.

Patch grows bigger each day through good stories, engaging content and good old-fashioned word-of-mouth. You can help us grow even faster by letting me know what is going on in the Amherst community. Send me news tips, stories, videos, events, letters, pictures and anything else you think the community should know about. (Email is Robert.Michaelson@patch.com)

In closing, I present a brilliantly crafted haiku:

                               Amherst Patch is one

Good times have been had all year

                               Cannot wait for more!
