LETTER: Len Gerzon Chooses Cooperation Over Confrontation

In 2004, then Governor-elect John Lynch formed his transition team to help him write his first biennial budget for 2005-2006. That is where I met Len Gerzon, now a candidate for state representative for the Bedford-Amherst district. We served together on the 12- person transition team.  Our particular assignment involved advising the Governor as we conducted meetings and budget analyses with various state agencies.

Len and I worked on budgets for the NH Department of Education, The State Vocational and Technical College system, and other state agencies.  In conducting a zero-based-budget type of approach to the state budget, I gained an appreciation for Len’s financial knowledge and work style. He was adept at forming working relationships with state department heads.  The work was complex but it was clear to me that Len’s professionalism and communication skills were a good fit for the task at hand.

As a former state Representative who served Bedford many years ago, I see in Len a tremendous potential to make a positive difference in now-partisan Concord. He listens and has a reputation of working well across the aisle.  He understands that cooperation is better than confrontation when conducting the people’s business. Len is the kind of pragmatic, non-partisan leader that would represent Bedford and Amherst extremely well in the House.  Please look for him on the ballot and vote for Len Gerzon on Nov. 6th. He is your best choice for the Bedford Amherst (Hillsborough 41) House seat.
