She was notified of the honor on Sunday after being nominated by NHDP chairman Ray Buckley. The young Democrat headed to Washington D.C. on Saturday and stay until Tuesday.
Barbagallo said she intends to not just represent democrats during the parade, but all New Hampshire citizens. Born and raised a New Hampshirite, she wants to bring a bit of the “Live Free or Die” style to Washington, D.C.

Her hope is that Obama’s second term continues to use common sense to address problems in the country, and is not deterred by delay tactics like filibusters.
According to the inauguration website, the tradition of an Inaugural parade "dates back to the very first Inauguration, when George Washington took the oath of office on April 30, 1789, in New York City. As he began his journey from Mount Vernon to New York City, local militias joined his procession as it passed through towns along the way. Once he arrived in New York City, members of the Continental Army, government officials, members of Congress and prominent citizens escorted Washington to Federal Hall for his swearing-in ceremony."
The biggest goal of the trip for this energetic Democrat? That would be to wave at our president, and have him wave back.
