Man Charged in Fatal Amherst Crash
Alcohol may have also been a factor in a crash that shut down traffic on Route 101A on Monday.

A Milford man is confirmed dead, and another man is facing charges in a head-on collision that occurred near Veterans Drive on Route 101A Monday evening.
Robert Tiedemann, 48, of Milford died on the scene, according to the Amherst Police Department.
Police said the collision involved three cars. John Hayden, 46, of Marlborough, is being charged with negligent homicide for causing the accident. The crash is still under investigation, but police told The Nashua Telegraph that alcohol may have been a factor. Hayden will be arraigned in Milford District Court at a later time.

Hayden was driving his Honda Pilot west on Route 101A and crossed the center line before striking the Dodge Neon driven by Tiedemann, according to police. A secondary collision occurred between Tiedemann's car and a Chevy Cobalt driven by Kimberly Pavlik of Milford.

Pavilik was not treated for any injuries, while Hayden was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for unspecified injuries. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles.
The accident occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday, and closed off Route 101A between Route 122 and Old Nashua Road.
The Amherst Police Department is investigating the accident. Witnesses and anyone with information is asked to call the department at 673-4900.
