New Home Decorating Store Coming To Amherst

Those looking to add a little style to their homes should fly over to a new store coming to town next month.

My Feathered Nest is a brand new interior decorating and gift store set to open on 101 Ponemah Road in Amherst on Sept. 15.

The store will offer furniture, furnishings, home accents, decorative items, antiques, gifts and a full spectrum of interior design, home organization and event decorating.

Owner Mb said that she wants her store to be a one-stop shop for anybody looking to transform their home or event into something special. She had her own interior design business in Massachusetts before setting time aside to raise a family, and saw an opportunity after moving to New Hampshire.

“I found there was a niche for this kind of a store in this area,” said Mb, “I decided that if nobody was going to, I would open one up.”

She describes her style as “traditional and eclectic” and loves adding antiques and other unique decorations to rooms.

The business name comes from a line in a favorite childhood book that reads: “I love my house, i love my nest, in all the world my nest is best.”

Mb said that is how she wants her customers to feel, that their 'nest' is indeed the best.

She plans on holding a grand opening for her store in October, and will also be hosting events throughout the year.
