PHOTOS: Repairing The Damage At Amherst Town Hall
The building is currently closed to the public, but town employees are still working.
Repairs are underway at Amherst Town Hall after the building closure on Tuesday due to major structural damage.
The town hall's rotting roof support system was scheduled for repair at a later date, but a recent inspection revealed more significant damage than before. Selectmen voted to close the building to the public while emergency repairs are made.
Town employees continue to work and can still be reached by phone. The building is expected to be closed until Friday, but there is no immediate danger to those inside.
