Year-over-year sales increased by 6.5% according to The RE/MAX of New England October Monthly Housing Report. Pending sales were up 9.3% over October 2013. Month-over-month, the nice weather has helped to contribute to an increase of 3.5% in home sales, with pending sales up 65.7%. Across the region, homes are staying on the market an average of 9 additional days, while median price is up 0.5% on average.
- In Connecticut, the number of total transactions is up 3.5% year-over-year and median price is up 0.9%. Pending sales were up 10.3% year-over-year.
- Massachusetts showed an increase of 1.8% in total transactions year-over-year. The median price increased 1.6%. Pending sales were up 6.3% over October of 2013.
- Maine showed an increase of 25.4% in total transactions year-over-year. The median price increased 0.9%. Pending sales figures were not available for this report.
- In New Hampshire, home transactions increased 10.9% year-over-year, and median price increased 4.3%. Pending sales were up 7.7% year-over-year.
- Rhode Island home transactions rose 4.6%, while median price increased 12.0%. Pending sales were up 23.6% year-over-year, the highest in New England.
- Vermont showed an increase in total transactions, up 15.0%, while median price decreased -5.0% year-over-year. Pending sales were up 13.3% year-over-year.
