Restaurant Week NH Kicks Off Tomorrow!

Get ready to dine on some good times with these fun New Hampshire events.

1. Food! Friday, May 17 will kick off the second annual Restuarant Week here in New Hampshire. This statewide event which will feature prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner from a variety of restaurants in all corners of New Hampshire. Get out and experience the fine cuisine the Granite State has to offer! This 8-day event – hosted by the New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association – will be packed with specials from the restaurants you love, as well as the eateries waiting to become your new obsession. Make a short vacation out of your culinary adventure by taking advantage of the specially priced lodging packages. Restaurant Week in NH will be May 17-24, and a full list of restaurants can be found here.

2. Salsa! Join in on a Salsa Lesson and Social Dance at the Studio 550 Community Art Center and Gallery in Manchester on Saturday, May. 18
from 8 p.m. to midnight. Bachata nights (with some Salsa) are held every 1st Saturday. Salsa nights (with some Bachata and Merengue) are held every 3rd Saturday.  Free salsa lesson from 8-9 and a social dance to follow from 9pm-midnight ($10). No experience or Partner needed. Great DJed Salsa music with a mix of bachata, merengue, and cha cha. If you want to get a few more moves in before the night, check out the Queen City Ballroom on Dow Street. 

3. It's back! The Hollis Flea Market is back every Sunday from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Fun Family Flea Market to find treasures! Over 20+ acres, 1,000+ shoppers, hundreds of parking spaces, full concession stands, approximately 400 vendor spaces. Spend an hour, or Stay the Day!!! The Hollis Flea Market has a long-standing tradition of being the destination of choice for bargain hunters of all ages. In fact, we've been offering great deals on unusual and traditional merchandise longer than just about anyone. Simply put, we'll help you earn some fast cash on things you've got around, or help you to sell items as a regular Hollis Flea Market vendor!

4. Jazzy! Check out 'A Moment in Time' A Tribute to Count Basie at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Sunday, May. 19 at 4 p.m. As a distinguished part of the “royalty” of American jazz , The Count,  also known as ”The Kid from Red Bank,” led one of the most swinging and influential big bands in history. The very word “Basie” is synonymous with big band swing. Joining the Capitol Center Jazz Orchestra is former Basie drummer Butch Miles. Butch is considered one of the most important big band drummers alive today and was a pivotal influence on the Basie band of the 1970’s, recording such classics as “Wind Machine” and “Freckle Face.”

5. Single? Not for long! Another Singles Dance Party with DJ JoAnn will take place at Daniels Hal on Friday, May. 17 7:30 p.m. to midnight. Large dance floor, huge sound system, plenty of ding free off street parking. Seats 185, smoking outside on the patio, with tables. Daniels Hall the place where singles of all ages meet in a fun, safe and inexpensive environment. BYOB and we give free cups & ice and refrigeration for beer drinkers.
