ROCK OUT at the Amherst Town Library!

The library will have an interactive display of NH mineral species starting today.

The Amherst Town Library is pleased to present an interactive New Hampshire Mineral Species Display on exhibit from Jan. 2-15 near the entrance to the library.

The collection of 293 New Hampshire mineral specimens was assembled together by Amherst resident Tom Mortimer.

He has been actively field collecting New England minerals for the past 35 years. An early childhood visit to Mt. Mica in Maine was his first exposure to mineral collecting and he has been hooked ever since.

With other interests in hobbyist electronics and woodworking, the New Hampshire Mineral Species Display project combines many of Tom’s talents.
